Rockfield Medical Devices was awarded funds by the European Innovation Council Accelerator SME Instrument

Rockfield Medical Devices is delighted to announce an award in competitive funding from the EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

In May 2020, Rockfield began a two- year project MobilityPlus project supported by the EIC Accelerator that invested €1,605,012 in the project with an overall budget of €2,292,875. The EIC Accelerator is part of the European Innovation Council pilot that supports top-class innovators, entrepreneurs, small companies and scientists with funding opportunities and acceleration services. It supports high-risk, high potential small and medium-sized enterprises and innovators to help them develop and bring onto the market new innovative products, services and business models that could drive economic growth.

The EU-funded MobilityPlus project is the future of enteral feeding healthcare. It is a solution that alleviates the burden on healthcare and addresses specific feeding needs of patients with Complex Chronic Conditions (CCCs). The project is using wireless technology, miniaturisation, nano-sensors and computing power to enable the development of a connected medical device for enteral feeding care. This, in turn, can generate, collect, analyse and transmit data. MobilityPlus will be the first and only solution to provide enhanced usage control options and e-connectivity, enabling effective self-monitoring, better care quality and improved diagnosis of side-effects.

MobilityPlus has already gained traction with target customers, end-users and key influencers and is currently progressing well.
